It looks as though UFC 179 will feature a bout between two light-heavyweight contenders, as Glover Teixeira will reportedly battle Phil Davis at the event.

The card is set for October 25th at the Maracanazinho Gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Teixeira confirmed the fight to the Brazilian outlet Portal do Vale Tudo recently; however, the UFC has not made any official announcement.

Teixeira (22-3) will be looking to rebound from the decision loss he suffered versus champion Jon Jones at UFC 172, which ended his impressive, 20 fight win streak.

Davis (12-2) is also looking to back on track, after losing that same April 26th night, as the noted wrestler was decisioned by Anthony Johnson.

UFC 179 will be headlined by a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes.
