Recently the UFC announced that Khabib Nurmagomedov’s younger cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov, has signed with the promotion. Now it’s being reported that bantamweight Hunter Azure will face Nurmagomedov in his Octagon debut at UFC 249.

MMA Fighting is reporting that sources have informed the outlet Azure (8-0) will battle Nurmagomedov (12-0) at the upcoming, April 18th card.

Azure recorded a decision win over Chris Ocon on Dana White’s Contender Series, before making his UFC debut in September, and defeating Brad Katon via decision.

Nurmagomedov last competed at a Gorilla Fighting Championship event in November and submitted Braian Gonzalez. The bantamweight has also recorded two victories under the Professional Fighters League banner.

UFC 249 will feature lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov taking on Tony Ferguson in the main event. The event will take place in Brooklyn, New York.
