Report: Joe Pyfer to Battle Kelvin Gastelum Next
By FCF Staff
Once again, Kelvin Gastelum will be competing on the UFC’s next card in Mexico, as it’s being reported the veteran fighter will battle middleweight Joe Pyfer.
Pyfer (12-3) is coming off an emphatic, knockout win over Marc-André Barriault in June. The victory returned the Dana White Series Contender alumn to the win column, as prior to that, Pyfer dropped a unanimous decision loss to Jack Hermansson in February.
The 28-year-old Pyfer has gone 4-1 in the UFC to date.
MMA Mania has confirmed with multiple sources that Pyfer and Gastelum will fight at the UFC’s March 29th card in Mexico City.
Gastelum (19-9) recorded a unanimous decision win over Daniel Rodriguez in his last outing, which also took place in June. Prior to that, the former TUF winner was submitted by Sean Brady in December.
The 33-year-old Gastelum has gone 2-3 in his last 5 bouts.
