Recently there’s been speculation that a fight between Jon Jones and Anthony Smith was going to materialize, following UFC 232, and now it’s being reported the match-up is planned for UFC 235.

UFC President Dana White has told TMZ Sports that the fight is targeted for the March 2nd event, which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Jones, however, still needs to receive a license from the Nevada Commission to compete, as a result of an atypical drug result he had, which moved UFC 232 from Las Vegas to Inglewood, California.

Jones took on Alexander Gustafsson at the recent event, and reclaimed the 205 title by stopping the latter in round three.

Smith, on the other hand, is coming off a stoppage win over fellow contender Volkan Oezdemir in March.
