Report: Joseph Duffy, Last Man to Defeat Conor McGregor, is UFC Bound
By FCF Staff
It looks as though another of Ireland’s top fighters is UFC bound, as according to a new report, Joseph Duffy has signed a multi-fight deal with the ZUFFA owned promotion.
The fighter is the last man to defeat featherweight star, Conor McGregor, who Duffy submitted at a Cage Warriors event back in 2010. Duffy also holds a victory over another UFC vet in Norman Parke.
News of Duffy’s UFC deal is being reported by Ireland’s “The Score” outlet, and the lightweight has also re-tweeted the story.
The 26 year-old fighter currently holds a 12-1 record in MMA, and Duffy also carries a 7-0 record in pro boxing. The Donegal fighter competed on the 12th Season of The Ultimate Fighter, but was eliminated before making it into the fighter’s house.
The aforementioned report also says that Duffy signed a contract which is “extremely lucrative”, in comparison to the normal UFC, entry level deal. Duffy is expected to make his UFC debut in March or April.
