Report: Josh Koscheck Stepping in for Ben Saunders at UFC FN 62
By FCF Staff
It looks as though Josh Koscheck won’t have to wait long for his next bout, following his loss to Jake Ellenberger at UFC 184, as the welterweight has reportedly agreed to step in for the injured Ben Saunders at UFC Fight Night 62. Saunders had been booked to fight Erick Silva.
Koshcheck will face Silva at the March 21st event according to a report from Globo’s Combate. The UFC has not made any official announcement regarding the reported change.
Silva (17-5) is coming off a choke-out victory over Mike Rhodes at a UFC Fight Night card in December, after he was stopped by Matt Brown last May.
Koscheck (17-9) returned to action for the first time in over a year on February 28th, but was submitted by Ellenberger in the second round. The former #1 contender has lost four in a row.
UFC FN 62 will be headlined by a welterweight fight between Demian Maia and Ryan LaFlare, and will be hosted by Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
