Report: Junior dos Santos – Francis Ngannou Bout to be Moved From UFC 239
By FCF Staff
It looks like the bout between heavyweight contenders Junior dos Santos and Francis Ngannou will no longer take place at the July 6th, UFC 239 card, as it’s being reported the fight’s been moved to UFC Minneapolis.
The June 29th card recently lost its main event, as Tyron Woodley was supposed to fight Robbie Lawler at the event, but had to withdraw due to a hand injury. ESPN is reporting that sources have informed the outlet that the UFC is closing to finalizing an agreement, whereby dos Santos – Ngannou would now headline UFC Minneapolis.
Lawler, meanwhile, remains unbooked for his next bout.
Ngnnoua (13-3) is coming off back-to-back, and quick, stoppage wins over Curtis Blaydes and Cain Velasquez.
Dos Santos (21-5) has won three in a row and finished Derrick Lewis in his last outing.
