Report: Kamaru Usman – Gilbert Burns Expected For UFC 258
By FCF Staff
After two previous dates for a fight between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns fell through, it’s being reported the welterweights have verbally agreed to fight at UFC 258.
Burns was originally scheduled to fight Usman last July. But, the former lightweight contracted the Coronavirus and had to withdraw. The fighters were rebooked to fight at UFC 256 in December. But, injuries the champion Usman was dealing with postponed the bout.
Now ESPN is reporting that according to sources, Usman (17-1) and Burns (19-3) have verbally agreed to fight on February 13th. UFC 258 is planned for that date, at a location to be determined.
Usman is coming off a decision win over Jorge Masvidal in July. Burns, meanwhile, recorded a decision victory over the former champ, Tyron Woodley in May.
