Report: “King Mo” Lawal Expands on Issues With Bellator’s Bjorn Rebney, Calls for More Respect

By FCF Staff

Although Bjorn Rebney says he had a “heart-to-heart” with “King Mo” Lawal Saturday night, after the latter accused the Bellator CEO of favouring “Rampage” Jackson, it looks as though all is not well with the light-heavyweight.

Lawal fired away at Rebney before and after his controversial decision loss to Jackson at Bellator 120, but at the post fight presser, the fighter said the two had settled the issue. Rebney then proceeded to claim that Lawal had been misinformed by others, and that in fact, he had not been rooting for Jackson.

Well, Lawal appeared on the latest edition of “The MMA Hour” Monday, and the former Strikeforce champ once again accused Rebney of favouring Jackson (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“Rampage is God. Rampage, man, he could blow and make things fall down. Rampage is a black superman. No one can beat Rampage. Rampage this, Rampage that.’ He’s like a cheerleader. And he just kind of downplayed me,” Lawal said about Rebney. “Everything in the lead up to this fight, he never said one thing positive about me. Everything positive was about Rampage, and then he was like, ‘oh yeah, we have Mo right here.’ So I felt disrespected a little bit.”

Lawal also revealed that he had calmed down by the time of the post-fight presser, but that shortly after, he was extremely bothered by Rebney saying the judge’s made the right decision. The decorated wrestler also added that if Bellator cannot treat him with “respect”, maybe “someone else will.”

Both Lawal and Jackson have called for a rematch following Bellator 120, but it remains to be seen if and when that fight will get booked.
