Report: “King Mo” Lawal Out For 6-8 Weeks Following Injury at “Dynamite”
By FCF Staff
“King Mo” Lawal was forced to withdraw from Bellator’s “Dynamite” light-heavyweight tourney, but it looks as though the accomplished fighter won’t be sidelined for too long, all things considered.
Lawal worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Linton Vassell in the tourney semifinals, but was unable to continue, as a result of a rib injury. According to a follow up report from MMA Fighting.com, Lawal will likely need six to eight weeks to recover, as the wrestler has torn cartilage between his ribs and an occult fracture a rib.
Phil Davis went on to win the tourney, by submitting Emanuel Newton and stopping Francis Carmont, who replaced Lawal. Carmont had worked his way to a UD win over Anthony Ruiz in the tourney alternate bout.
