Machida, who turned to his diverse striking skills to score a decision win over Mousasi, has reported to MMA Fighting.com that he didn’t break his foot during the five round bout. According to the report x-rays have confirmed Machida’s foot is not broken.
The 35 year-old announced after the fight that he believes he’s earned a title shot at 185 pounds, but that he’ll leave the decision up to the UFC.
Saturday’s win followed Machida’s first round, KO victory over Mark Munoz in October, which marked “The Dragon’s” middleweight debut. Machida currently holds a record of 21-4.
