By FCF Staff
Boxing could lose another of its biggest stars to retirement next year, as promoter Bob Arum is reporting that Manny Pacquiao plans to retire after his next fight.
Arum recently told ESPN.com that Pacquiao will fight on April 9th, and that it will be hist last. The 36 year-old, Filipino star is running to become a senator, and Arum says Pacquiao intends to dedicate himself to the role if he’s elected.
Pacquiao (57-6-2) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather in May, in what was the highest grossing fight of all time. Mayweather has since retired, although, many believe the champion will return in an attempt to push his record to 50-0.
There has been talk that Pacquiao could fight Terence Crawford or Amir Khan in his next fight, however, nothing has been determined.
