Marcus “Buchecha” Almedia has had a decorated career in combat sports to date, and now the Brazilian fighter will have the opportunity to add UFC victories to his extensive resume.
It’s being reported that the multiple-time, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, turned MMA fighter, has signed with the UFC. “Buchecha” recently became a free agent after going 5 and 1 in MMA competition under the ONE Championship banner.
The heavyweight will face Martin Buday (15-2) at the UFC’s upcoming July 26th card in Abu Dhabi.
Robert Tellez was reportedly the first to share the news and MMA Fighting has also confirmed the signing and booking.
“Buchecha” hasn’t competed since November, 2024, when he submitted Amir Aliakbari.
Buday, meanwhile, is coming off a unanimous decision win over Uran Satybaldiev in April.
