Report: Nate Diaz Has Agreed to Fight Leon Edwards in Five Round, Co-main Event
By FCF Staff
After going through 2020 without competing, it’s being reported that Nate Diaz will likely return to the cage in May for a fight with Leon Edwards.
Diaz hasn’t competed since November, 2019, whe he lost via TKO (due to doctor stoppage) to Jorge Masvidal. Recently ESPN reported that Diaz and Edwards have verbally agreed to fight in the co-main event of UFC 262.
Diaz also recently tweeted out this.

The event is scheduled to take place on May 15th in Houston. In addition, the fight would be a five-round bout, marking the first time in UFC history that a non-title, co-main event has that many rounds.
Edwards (18-3, 1 NC) is coming off a no-contest result against Belal Muhammad earlier this month, who was unable to continue after being poked in the eye. Edwards has won eight straight prior to the fight.
Diaz (20-12), meanwhile, is 3-2 in his last five contests.
In the headliner for UFC 262, Charles Oliveira is set to face Michael Chandler for the vacant lightweight title.
