Now that Nick Diaz has a new UFC contract, and the fight with Anderson Silva that he’s been calling for, the outspoken vet continues to make headline grabbing comments.

Diaz participated in a media call recently to promote his recently announced, January 31st bout with Silva. While discussing his new UFC deal, the 30 year-old reportedly relayed (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I can’t complain,” said Diaz, who also disclosed during the call that he doesn’t “enjoy” fighting. “I can’t ask for anything more. I’m happy with the deal that I made. It’s hard out there, especially when the rest of these guys aren’t getting paid what they should be paid, and they sit around and they can’t open their mouths about anything, for the most part, when it comes to what they do. They’ve invested a lot into being pro MMA fighters and a lot of them have lives on the side, and they’ve had half the fights I’ve had, so it’s a bit different for a lot of people. It’s a really complicated road if you’re an MMA fighter.”

The former welterweight contender is set to face Silva at UFC 183, which will go down in Las Vegas. The card’s venue has yet to be announced.

Diaz hasn’t fought since March, 2013, when he was decisioned by now former welterweight champ, Georges St-Pierre.
