Although Oscar De La Hoya hasn’t fought in nearly a decade, it sounds like the decorated boxer is hoping to lock up a bout with Conor McGregor.

McGregor made his pro-boxing debut this past August and was stopped by Floyd Mayweather in round ten. Leading up to the massive fight, De La Hoya was openly critical of the match-up.

But, according to a report from The Mac Life, recently the 44 year-old told Dash Radio the following:

“You know I’m competitive,” De La Hoya said. “You know I still have it in me. I’ve been secretly training. Secretly training. I’m faster than ever, and stronger than ever. I know I could take out Conor McGregor in two rounds. I’ll come back for that fight. Two rounds.

“Just one more. I’m calling him out. Two rounds. That’s all I need. That’s all I’m going to say.”

McGregor is expected to return to the Octagon for his next bout, as the lightweight champion hasn’t fought under the UFC banner since last November, when he finished Eddie Alvarez.
