One of the first fighters to make a mark in the UFC’s lighter divisions is headed to the promotion’s Hall of Fame, as Pat Miletich will reportedly be inducted this weekend.

After considerable speculation that the 48 year-old Miletich will join the likes of Royce Gracie, Ken Shamrock and Dan Severyn, UFC President Dana White has confirmed the news to MMA Fighting.com.

Miletich (29-7-2), who hasn’t fought since 2008, was the first man to win what is now known as the UFC Welterweight Championship. During his run with the promotion, the legendary fighter scored wins over established vets like Mikey Burnett, John Alessio and Shonie Carter.

“The Croatian Sensation” also battled accomplished fighters like Carlos Newton, Renzo Gracie and Matt Lindland during his decade plus career.

Miletich has also had incredible success in a coaching role, as the Bettendorf resident helped develop stars like Matt Hughes, Robbie Lawler, Tim Sylvia and Jens Pulver, among many others.

Some of the other UFC HOF members include Mark Coleman, Forrest Griffin, Stephan Bonnar, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell.
