Report: Paul Taylor to Battle Anthony Njokuani at UFC Fight Night 30
By FCF Staff
It looks as though another of England’s top fighters will compete on the UFC”s upcoming, October 26th Fight Night card in Manchester, as the country’s Paul Taylor will reportedly take on Anthony Njokuani.
The bout is being reported by multiple sources after Sherdog.com reported it first. The UFC has not officially announced the fight.
Taylor (11-6-1) will be competing in the Octagon for the first time since February, 2011, when he knocked out Gabe Reudiger with a headkick at UFC 126. The victory returned Taylor to the winner’s column, after he dropped back-to-back fights to John Hathaway and Sam Stout.
The 33 year-old lightweight was scheduled to fight Njokuani at UFC 138 in November, 2011; however, Taylor incurred whiplash in a car accident and had to pull out.
Njokuani (16-7) is coming off a second round, knockout win over Roger Bowling at UFC on FOX 7 in April. Prior to the victory the noted striker dropped a unanimous decision loss to Rafael dos Anjos last July.
UFC Fight Night 30 will be hosted by the Manchester Evening News Arena and will feature Michael Bisping taking on Mark Munoz in the main event.
