Report: Rashad Evans Not Willing to Fight Vitor Belfort

Who Vitor Belfort will fight next still remains to be seen, as after Dana White reported this week that he had offered the middleweight a bout with Rashad Evans, comes word that the latter isn’t interested.

White relayed the proposed match-up in New York City recently, after Belfort’s camp turned down a fight with Tim Kennedy, by saying the only fight he’ll take at middleweight is a championship bout. Evans and Belfort, however, are members of the Blackzilians team, and the former light-heavyweight champ informed ESPN.com that he’s not willing to fight Belfort as a result.

“I won’t fight Vitor,” said Evans. “I won’t fight Thiago Silva. I won’t fight Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira. I won’t fight anybody who I train with!”

Belfort’s wife and manager Joana Prado has said her husband is interested in fighting, so long as it doesn’t jeopardize his chance of fighting the winner of Weidman-Silva II, which will take place at UFC 168. As a result, Belfort is willing to fight at light-heavyweight in the interim.

Belfort is reportedly interested in fighting Chael Sonnen, who is set to fight “Shogun” Rua on August 17th, but the charismatic vet is only willing to fight if it’s for the #1 contender spot at 185.
