Report: Rashad Evans Sidelined Again After Second ACL Surgery
By FCF Staff
Rashad Evans won’t be returning to the Octagon any time soon, unfortunately, as the former UFC light-heavyweight champ has reportedly undergone another knee surgery.
Due to an ACL tear the 35 year-old incurred last year, Evans hadn’t fought since November, 2013, when he stopped Chael Sonnen. “Suga” was booked to fight Glover Teixeira later this month, but the latter pulled out due to an injury.
In the latest edition of FOX Sports’ “UFC Tonight”, however, it was reported that Evans injured his knee again in December and underwent surgery in January. The fighter reportedly didn’t decide to have the surgery until after Teixeira withdrew from the bout.
Evans is expected to be out another six to nine months as a result of this latest setback.
