Recently Dana White announced that UFC 205 would feature a welterweight tilt between Donald Cerrone and Robbie Lawler, but according to new reports the bout is cancelled.

On Friday, TMZ reported that Lawler had pulled out of the fight, but the reason for doing so wasn’t known. Sources have told MMA Fighting, however, that Lawler’s decided he needs more time to prepare,  following his knockout loss to Tyron Woodley in July.

Cerrone, meanwhile, has won three straight bouts at 170, after being stopped by former lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos in December. It isn’t known if “Cowboy” will remain on the upcoming card.

UFC 205 will be hosted by Madison Square Garden in New York City.
