Report: “Shogun” Rua-Dan Henderson Rematch Set For March 23rd
By FCF Staff
In 20011, Dan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua engaged in one of the best bouts the UFC light-heavyweight division has seen, and according to reports, the two are set to fight again.
The veteran fighters will reportedly battle on March 23rd, at a UFC Fight Night card in Natal, Brazil.
The match-up was reported first by the Brazilian outlet Tatame, and MMA Fighting.com has also confirmed the bout with sources. The UFC, however, has not made any official announcement.
Henderson (29-11) has lost three straight since he defeated Rua by unanimous decision, as the 43 year-old legend has dropped bouts to Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans and Vitor Belfort.
The former PRIDE champ, who recently entered free agency, has reportedly signed a new deal with the UFC.
Rua (22-8) is coming off a vicious, KO win over James Te Huna in December, after losing to Alexander Gustafsson and Chael Sonnen.
The 32 year-old fighter is 2-3 in his last 5 contests.
