Report: Stephane Patry, GSP’s Former Manager, Believes Former Champ Will Return to UFC
By FCF Staff
Recently Georges St-Pierre has admitted he’s getting the “itch” to fight again and is “thinking” about returning to the UFC, but his former manager believes the star will.
Veteran promoter, and the champion’s former manager, Stephane Patry, recently appeared on “The MMA Hour”. While discussing whether he believes the former welterweight champ will fight again, Patry stated (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“Georges is going to come back for one fight,” Patry said. “I can’t say he’s going to come back and go on a title run and do 10 fights, but I know for sure he’s going to come back for one fight.”
Patry went on to say that he doesn’t believe GSP wants to leave fighting for good, following his controversial and tightly contested decision win over Johny Hendricks. That bout took place in November, 2013, and afterwards, the Canadian announced he was taking a break from fighting.
The soon to be 34 year-old, St-Pierre, has won 12 straight fights.
