Tito Ortiz says a bout between Strikeforce bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and former featherweight champ Cris “Cyborg” Santos will happen, but not at Rousey’s weight of 135 pounds. The UFC Hall of Fame member and retired fighter manages Santos through his recently launched company Primetime 360 Entertainment & Sports Management, Inc.

Speaking to MMA Weekly, Ortiz reportedly relayed that although he’s certain fans will get to see the fight, “healthwise”, Santos cannot make 135 pounds. Ortiz’s comments echo those of Santos, who has repeatedly stated that she cannot compete as a bantamweight.

Rousey has expressed her interest in fighting Santos; however, the rising star has consistently said “Cyborg” would have to make the weight cut in order for the fight to take place.

Santos (10-1) is waiting for her suspension to expire, after she tested positive for banned substances following her bout with Hiroki Yamanaka last December. The powerful fighter’s suspension expires at the end of the year.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker recently relayed to MMA Junkie that due to Cyborg’s suspension, he believes Rousey will compete at least once before the promotion can even begin to attempt putting together the all-star bout.
