UFC President Dana White has stated repeatedly that Georges St. Pierre is the company’s top pay-per-view draw, and it appears that the welterweight champion’s recent return drew significant numbers.

While White, as usual, would not provide any figures on a recent media call when asked how UFC 154 did PPV wise, according to a report from MMA Fighting’s Dave Meltzer, the card drew an estimated 680,000 to 700,000 buys.

The November 17th, UFC 154 card marked the return of St. Pierre, who hadn’t fought since April, 2011 due to knee surgery. The champion worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Carlos Condit in the main event.

Although the reported numbers fell short of UFC 148, which featured Anderson Silva’s rematch with Chael Sonnen and is believed to have sold approximately 900,000 buys, its still a strong showing. Despite the fact St. Pierre’s return was widely anticipated, the fighter did not have an established rivalry with the highly regarded Condit that typically produces larger PPV numbers.
