Despite the withdrawal of Francisco Rivera, Raphael Assuncao will still fight at UFC 170 on February 22nd, as the promotion has reportedly signed Pedro Munhoz to fight the bantamweight contender.

Rivera recently dropped out of the bout due to a broken hand, and afterwards, Assuncao called for a bout with bantamweight champ Renan Barao. Assuncao also relayed that he didn’t expect to compete at UFC 170 due to his own shoulder injury, but according to a follow up report from MMA Fighting, he’ll face Munhoz.

The UFC has not made any official announcement regarding the reported match-up.

Munhoz (10-0) is the reigning Resurrection Fighting Alliance 135 pound champ, who is coming off a quick, submission win over Billy Daniels last month. Prior to that the Black House and Kings MMA fighter worked his way to a split decision win over UFC vet Jeff Curran.

Assuncao (21-4), meanwhile, scored a split decision win over TJ Dillashaw in October to extend his winning streak to five. Assuncao is currently ranked #3 in the UFC’s bantamweight division.

UFC 170 will be hosted by the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and will feature women’s bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey taking on Sarah McMann.
