It looks as thought the UFC has tabled a bout between former light-heavyweight champs Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Rashad Evans.

According to a report from the Brazilian publication Combate and a follow up story from MMA Fighting.com, Rua vs. Evans has been targeted for April 16th. The venue and location for the event has yet to be determined.

Rua (23-10) is coming off a decision win over Antonio Rogerio Nogueira last August, after being stopped by Dan Henderson and Ovince Saint Preux in consecutive bouts.

Evans (19-4-1) returned to action for the first time in two years last October, and lost via UD to Ryan Bader. Evans had been sidelined due to issues with his knee.

The UFC has not made any official announcement regarding the reported match-up.
