It looks as though the UFC’s extensive search for Vitor Belfort’s next opponent is nearing its end, as the middleweight contender has reportedly agreed to fight Dan Henderson at the promotion’s upcoming, November 9th card in Brazil.

News of the bout was passed on in the latest edition of “UFC Tonight” on FUEL TV. According to the report, Belfort and Henderson have verbally agreed to the bout, however, it was not disclosed at what weight the fight will take place.

Belfort and his management team have relayed recently that they do no want the fighter to compete at 185 pounds, unless it’s in a title fight. The UFC reportedly offered Belfort fights with Tim Kennedy and most recently Lyoto Machida at middleweight, but nothing was booked.

Belfort (23-10) is coming off back-to-back stoppage wins over Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping, after being submitted by light-heavyweight champ Jon Jones last September.

Henderson (29-10), meanwhile, has dropped consecutive split decisions to Machida and Rashad Evans.

The two veterans fought at PRIDE 32 in 2006, and Henderson worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Belfort.

The exact location and venue for the November 9th card in Brazil has yet to be determined.
