Report: Yancy Medeiros Loses UFC FN 31 Victory After Failing Drug Test
By FCF Staff
The pro record of Yancy Medeiros will no longer reflect a KO win over Yves Edwards at UFC Fight Night 31 in November, as the lightweight has reportedly had the result overturned to a no decision.
The Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority has made the change as a result of Medeiros failing his post-fight drug test, according to a report from MMA Junkie.com.
The UFC has relayed to the outlet that Medeiros tested positive for marijuana metabolites, and that he was suspended for 90 days (retroactive to November 6th). In addition, the 26 year-old fighter will have to pass a drug test before he can compete for the UFC again.
Medeiros (9-1, 1 NC) was coming off a TKO loss to Rustam Khabilov, due to a thumb injury, when he faced Edwards.
The Hawaiian fighter is scheduled to fight Joe Ellenberger at UFC 172 on April 26th in Baltimore.
