"NO HOLDS BARRED" ON EYADA SPORTS, THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 27-DECEMBER 1: by Eddie Goldman "No Holds Barred" can be heard every Monday through Friday, 3 to 5 PM New York time (Eastern Time – U.S.), only on eYada.com (http://www.eyada.com).
Tuesday, November 28 — The Lions Den will be well represented at this Wednesday’s King of the Cage 6 by fighters Pete Williams, Vernon "Tiger" White, and Tony Galindo. Today we talk with them. Also, Mayra Conde has been training in mixed martial arts with former UFC champ and King of Pancrase Bas Rutten and at the Beverly Hills Jiu-Jitsu Club, and it has been paying off. Mayra recently came home from the first World Pankration Championships in Greece, representing Canada, with two gold medals, one for winning in her weight class and the other for being part of the top women’s team. Today we talk with Mayra. Wednesday, November 29 — The mixed martial arts show King of the Cage 6 takes place tonight at the Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and today we speak with reigning KOTC heavyweight champ Ricco Rodriguez about his title defense tonight against undefeated Scott Hawkins. Also expect to hear from other fighters on this card as well. Also, believe it or not, mixed martial arts is still CENSORED on U.S. cable television. Jake Rossen, a writer for ign.com, recently interviewed Joe Boyle, the public relations flak for In Demand, the pay-per-view distributor that has a lock on cable. Today we talk with Jake, and also with Sean Shelby of Grapplersworld.com, about what our next step should be in combating the censorship of combat sports on cable. Thursday, November 30 — Today we preview two major events taking place this weekend. Two undefeated champions, Felix Trinidad and Fernando Vargas, will fight this Saturday in what many predict will be the fight of the year, and we get all the latest on this battle from Houseofboxing.com’s Doug Fischer, who is in Las Vegas to cover this fight, as well as Friday’s Bernard Hopkins-Antwun Echols middleweight title fight. The North American Grappling Championships will also take place this weekend, and today we talk with its creator, Kipp Kollar, president of the North American Grappling Association, about this two-day event in Danbury, Connecticut. Friday, December 1 — Evan Tanner successfully defended his USWF heavyweight title at the USWF’s "Battle of the Belts" shootwrestling show Saturday, November 25, in Amarillo, Texas. Today he joins us to discuss this, and also, since Evan is the USWF promoter, the future of the USWF. Josh Gross of Full Contact Fighter also joins us today to discuss this Wednesday’s King of the Cage 6 show. |
