Romario Da Silva Replaces Mike Bronzoulis, Fighting Jay Hieron at Legacy FC 12
By FCF Staff
Legacy Fighting Championship has announced that due to a knee injury, Mike Bronzoulis will no longer fight Jay Hieron as scheduled on July 13th. Shark Fight and Shooto veteran Romario Da Silva has taken his place.
Hieron (22-5) will be competing for the first time since October, when he lost by split decision to reigning Bellator Welterweight Champion Ben Askren. The loss ended the 35 year-old veteran’s 10 fight win streak, which included victories over Jason High, Joe Riggs, Jesse Taylor and Rick Hawn.
Da Silva (19-9-1) will make his Legacy FC debut having won back-to-back bouts over Justin DeMoney and most recently Jaime Jara. The Brazilian fighter is 3-2 in his last five fights.
Legacy FC 12 will be hosted by Houston’s Arena Theater and will be broadcast live on AXS TV (formerly HDNet).
The upcoming event will also feature a bout between Will Campuzano and Chad Robichaux for the vacant flyweight belt.
