Schall-herring Rematchhighlights Ice 9
Schall-Herring Rematch Highlights ICE 9 ![]() FAIRFIELD, Ohio — Kerry Schall is excited about his rematch against Chris Herring this Friday in the ICE 9 event at Tori’s Station. "I’m not mad, and I don’t want revenge or anything like that," Schall said. "I’m excited because the first fight was going to be a good one… he wanted to stand, and I wanted to stand… we were going to have a slugfest." Unfortunately, during the first clinch, Herring landed an unintentional knee to the groin that dropped Schall and halted the bout. The fight was declared a no-contest and the rematch was added to this weekend’s card. Schall, better known as "the Meat Truck," has won 7 of 8 fights and has a 17-6 record. The Cincinnati resident hopes this will be a good year for him. "I’ve trained harded this year than ever before… and I’m healthy right now," Schall said. "I’m thinking this is going to be my year to do something in the sport." Schall has another rematch scheduled on June 26 in Fontana, Wis., where he will face Damien Decorah in the main event of the XFO event. Schall won a split decision over Decorah late last year. Also fighting on the card is local favorite Ron Fields, a good puncher who will face Leo Sylvest in what promises to be a standup war. ICE 9 is scheduled this Friday at Tori’s Station. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the first bout starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are available by calling (513) 290-3259. The lineup: MAIN EVENT Leo Sylvest vs. Ron Fields Jeremy Coomer vs. TBA (185 pounds) |
