Source: Tyrone Spong Out of WSOF 3 Due to Visa Issues
By Kelsey Mowatt
It appears as though World Series of Fighting 3 will not include feared kickboxer Tyrone Spong as planned, as a source close to the situation has informed Full Contact Fighter that visa issues will prevent him from competing on June 14th.
Spong is also scheduled to compete at the kickboxing card, GLORY 9 in New York one week later, however, it remains to be seen if the fighter will also be pulled from the June 22nd event. News of Spong’s visa issues were reported first by Sherdog.com.
The accomplished striker was scheduled to fight Angel DeAnda at WSOF 3.
Spong is coming off a stoppage win over noted kickboxing vet Remy Bonjasky at a GLORY event last month. The 27 year-old, Dutch fighter made his MMA debut in November, and quickly put away light-heavyweight Travis Bartlett at WSOF 1.
WSOF has not made any announcement regarding Spong’s status.
