T.J. Dillashaw Vacates UFC’s BW Belt, Suspended One Year by NY Commission

TJ Dillashaw

By FCF Staff

T.J. Dillashaw is no longer the UFC’s bantamweight champion, as the fighter has vacated the title, after reportedly testing positive for some sort of banned substance.

Recently Dillashaw announced on social media that a drug test he took, in connection with his January loss to Henry Cejudo, had an “adverse finding”.

Since then, the New York State Athletic Commission confirmed that Dillashaw has been suspended for one year and fined $10,000 “for violations relating to use of a prohibited substance.” No other details have been disclosed, and it remains to be seen if USADA also hands Dillashaw a suspension.

The suspension is retroactive to January 19, when Dillashaw was quickly stopped by Cejudo at UFC Brooklyn.
