After losing for the fourth consecutive time, Tyron Woodley released a statement, in which he praised Vicente Luque.

Woodley faced Luque in the co-main event of UFC 260, and the former welterweight champ came out aggressively. In the opening round, Woodley hurt Luque with punches, but the latter proceeded to stun the accomplished fighter badly with acounter shot.

Moments later, Luque finished the fight with a D’arce choke.

Following the loss, Woodley shared out the statement below.

“Sh-t was going really well until it wasn’t. My camp pushed me in ways I haven’t been pushed in a while. I committed, and swore to myself I would bring the tiger out that earned me gold. I saw the opportunity for the KO and got too excited. Payed a big cost. I don’t regret my aggression as that’s what God created me to do. @luquevicente is a tough and humble fighter. Was an honor to share the cage with you tonight.”

Woodley, who will turn 39 next month, completed his UFC contract with Saturday’s bout. The former champ’s losing streak includes losses to current champ Kamaru Usman, former interim champ Colby Covington and Gilbert Burns.
