After dropping consecutive fights to Oleksandr Usyk, Tyson Fury has announced he’s hanging up the gloves.

The 36-year-old, decorated boxer, lost via split decision to Usyk last May, before dropping a unanimous decision loss to the heavyweight champ in December.

Following Fury’s most recent losses, there was extensive speculation that a bout with fellow English star, Anthony Joshua, would finally materialize. But, more recently, Fury (34-2-1) announced via social media that he’s retiring (quote via MMA Fighting.com).

““Hi everybody, I’m going to make this short and sweet,. I’d like to announce my retirement from boxing. It’s been a blast. I’ve loved every single minute of it and I’m going to end with this: Dick Turpin wore a mask. God bless, everybody, see you on the other side. Get up!”

Fury, who has announced he was retiring in the past, is widely considered to be one of the greatest heavyweights of this generation. In 2015, he defeated Wladimir Klitschko to win the WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO and The Ring heavyweight titles.
