UFC 148: Anderson Silva Defeats Chael Sonnen For a Second Time
By FCF Staff
Despite promptly taking Anderson Silva down to the mat and remaining on top throughout the first round, Chael Sonnen was stopped by the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada.
After dominating round one, Sonnen was unable to take Silva down in round two, and after missing a spinning back fist the challenger fell to the mat. Silva capitalized on the position by blasting Sonnen to the chest with a knee, and after Silva landed several more punches from above, the bout was called to a halt.
Afterwards, Silva made amends with his rival Sonnen, and invited the outspoken middleweight to a “barbeque at his house.”
