Not long after the UFC announced that Tyron Woodley will fight Carlos Condit at UFC 171 on March 15th, Dana White has confirmed that the welterweight bout will be the card’s headliner.

Although Woodley is not currently ranked in the division’s top ten rankings, the bout could determine who will challenge for the welterweight title next. That same night, Johny Hendricks will battle Robbie Lawler for the vacant belt.

White confirmed the co-headliner status of Condit-Woodley by tweeting:

Just an FYI, Carlos Condit vs Tyrone Woodley is a done deal for the co main event in Dallas on March 15th. Great fight!!!

Condit (29-7) is coming off a stoppage win over Martin Kampmann at UFC FN 27 in August, while Woodley (12-2) knocked out Josh Koscheck in his last outing at UFC 167.

UFC 171 will be hosted by the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas.
