UFC 178: Conor McGregor to Battle Dustin Poirier, Event Headed to MGM Grand Garden Arena

Dustin Poirier quickly volunteered to face Conor McGregor next, following the latter’s win at UFC FN 46, and the featherweight has got his wish.
The UFC has announced the two will square off, September 27th at UFC 178 in Las Vegas. The promotion also announced on Tuesday that the event, which will feature Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson II, will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Poirier (16-3) has won three straight fights and is coming off a second round, stoppage win over Akira Corassani. The only man to defeat the #6 ranked featherweight in his last five bouts is Cub Swanson.
McGregor (15-2) took out Diego Brandao in the first round at UFC FN 46 on Saturday, which marked his third straight win in the UFC. The featherweight moved into the #10 spot as a result of the victory.
Some of the other bouts set for UFC 178 include Tim Kennedy vs. Yoel Romero, Dominick Cruz vs. Takeya Mizugaki and Amanda Nunes vs. Cat Zingano.
