UFC 178: Demetrious Johnson Defends Title, Donald Cerrone, Conor McGregor Score Wins
By FCF Staff
As most people expected would be the case, Demetrious Johnson retained the flyweight championship tonight at UFC 178, by tapping out Chris Cariaso in the second round.
The heavily favoured Johnson submitted Cariaso with a nicely executed, second round, kimura.
In the co-headliner, Donald Cerrone absorbed some heavy shots from Eddie Alvarez early on, but outscored the former Bellator lightweight champ for the remainder of the fight and earned the UD win.
And in the highly anticipated, featherweight fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor, the latter floored the contender with a hook moments in and finished the fight will follow up punches.
