UFC 182: Dana White Praises Donald Cerrone For Win, Latter “Disappointed” With Performance
By FCF Staff
Following Donald Cerrone’s win over Myles Jury at UFC 182, Dana White was quick to praise the rugged vet, but it sounds like “Cowboy” wasn’t overly thrilled with his latest victory.
Cerrone worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Jury on Saturday night, and in doing so, he became the first man to defeat the promising lightweight in an official bout. After the card, here is what the UFC President and Cerrone had to say about the fight to FOX Sports 1.
“I thought Cerrone looked great in that fight,”said White. “Jury has a style, he’s always moving. I think Jury, who’s really talented, got into the jiu-jitsu in the first round and it rattled him.”
“That was not a fight,” Cerrone noted about the the match-up, which did not feature as many exchanges as most people expected. “I was disappointed the entire time. To me, that wasn’t a victory. I didn’t feel like that was a victory tonight.”
With the win, Cerrone will likely remain a top five ranked lightweight, as the Jackson’s MMA fighter is currently positioned at #4. Cerrone also relayed that he’s hoping to fight on the UFC’s upcoming card in Broomfield, Colorado, which will take place on February 14th.
