UFC 186: Steve Bosse Tapped as Replacement For “Rampage” Jackson
By FCF Staff
Following the news that “Rampage” Jackson has been prevented from fighting at UFC 186 as scheduled, the promotion has called on former hockey enforcer, Steve Bosse, to fight Fabio Maldonado.
Recently it was revealed that Bellator has been granted a temporary injunction, which will prevent Jackson from fighting on April 25th. Since the UFC announced it had resigned Jackson, Bellator has claimed that the fighter remains under contract. Jackson was scheduled to battle Maldonado on April 25th.
The 33 year-old Bosse hasn’t fought since May, 2013, and last year, he announced he was retiring from fighting. The 10-1 fighter, who has trained extensively at the Tristar Gym in Montreal, cited injuries as the determining factor. Bosse had been scheduled to fight Ryan Jimmo at the TUF Nations Finale last April, but had to withdraw due to injury.
UFC 186 will be hosted by the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.
Bosse holds wins over UFC vets Houston Alexander and Marvin Eastman.
