UFC 187: John Dodson vs. Zach Makovsky Added to Line-Up
By FCF Staff
UFC 187 has received yet another, pivotal fight, as the promotion has announced that John Dodson will battle fellow flyweight contender Zach Makovsky.
Dodson (16-6) will be fighting for the first time since last June, when he stopped John Moraga (due to cut) in the second round. Following the win, the powerful fighter was expected to rematch champion Demetrious Johnson, but a knee injury sent Dodson to the sidelines. Johnson decisioned Dodson in January, 2013.
Makovsky (19-5), meanwhile, is coming off a decision win over Timothy Elliott last weekend at UFC FN 60.
Dodson is currently ranked #1 in the UFC’s flyweight division and Makovsky is sitting at #9.
UFC 187 will feature light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones taking on Anthony Johnson, as well as middleweight champ Chris Weidman fighting Vitor Belfort.
The May 23rd event will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
