UFC 189: Dana White Predicting $7 Million Dollar Gate
By FCF Staff
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has been going to great lengths to promote its July 11th event in Las Vegas, Nevada, and according to Dana White, it will pay off big time.
On that date, featherweight champ Jose Aldo will take on Conor McGregor, and the two have been visiting various cities recently as part of the UFC 189 World Championship Tour. The upcoming card will also feature welterweight champion Robbie Lawler taking on Rory MacDonald.
White said this week that he believes the UFC will spend more money than ever to promote the upcoming event, and recently he told the media (quote via UFC.com):
“This thing is probably going to be a $7 million gate. It’s the biggest fight in featherweight history,” White said. “The biggest fight ever in the featherweight division. And I think it’s going to be the biggest fight we do this year.
“And that’s considering we just came off the best quarter this company has ever had.”
UFC 189 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
