UFC 205: Rashad Evans Admits to Losing “Focus” While Training at Blackzilians Camp
By FCF Staff
In advance of his upcoming bout with Tim Kennedy, Rashad Evans is reporting that he’s training at Vitor Belfort’s Training Center, as a result of losing “focus” at the renowned, Blackzilians camp.
Evans is booked to fight Kennedy at UFC 205 on November 12th, which will take place in New York City. The former light-heavyweight champ has elected to move to middleweight, following consecutive defeats to Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira.
During the latest episode of “UFC Tonight”, Evans was asked about his training camp for the upcoming bout, and “Suga” reported this (quote via FOX Sports 1 press release):
“I’ve been training at Belfort’s Training Center. At the Blackzilians, I lost focus on what I needed. I still go there and I’ve got ties to the team. I want to make sure I have hands-on focus and I’m getting what Rashad needs, not what the team needs.”
Prior to his bouts with Teixeira and Bader, Evans stopped Chael Sonnen in the opening round back in November, 2013. The 37 year-old fighter was sidelined for much of 2014 and 2015 due to knee injuries.
