UFC 223: Max Holloway to Battle Khabib Nurmagomedov, Due to Tony Ferguson Withdrawal
By FCF Staff
After noting that it’s not an April Fool’s Day prank, UFC President Dana White has announced that Tony Ferguson has withdrawn from UFC 223 next Saturday. Stepping in for Ferguson will be featherweight champ Max Holloway, who will battle Khabib Nurmagomedov for the 155 title.
White recently confirmed the switch on Twitter:
BOOM!!!!!! We got Khabib vs The Champ Max Holloway for the 155lb title this Saturday in Brooklyn New York!!!!!!! pic.twitter.com/quvI3UqGXh

This marks the fourth time a fight between Ferguson and Nurmagomedov has been cancelled.
Other outlets have also confirmed that Ferguson has indeed been forced to drop out of the card due to injury.
