UFC 232: Dana White Not Interested in Amanda Nunes – Cris “Cyborg” Immediate Rematch
By FCF Staff
Following Cris “Cyborg’s” stunning and quick defeat to Amanda Nunes last night at UFC 232, Dana Whites doesn’t see an immediate rematch happening.
Nunes quickly took out “Cyborg” with booming punches and in doing so, the bantamweight champ secured the promotion’s featherweight title. Since the loss was “Cyborg’s” first since 2005, and just her second in her storied MMA career, White was asked about the possibility of an immediate rematch.
The UFC President, however, said this (quotes via MMA Junkie):
“I don’t think you do,” said White. “It was a pretty convincing win.”
Nunes, meanwhile, had this to say about it:
“Honestly, I think what I went through in this camp was a lot. Putting all this weight back and training heavy with those guys at the gym.
“We’ll see. You never know. Let me go back home and talk to Dana White to see what he thinks. But soon you guys are going to know.”
With last night’s victory, Nunes moved her overall record to 17-4 and her winning streak to eight.
