The headliner for UFC 284 was billed as a fight to determine the sport’s best, pound-for-pound fighter, and the bout ended up being “Fight of the Night”.

Makhachev defened his lightweight title by recording a decision win over the featherweight champ, in what was a memorable, close fight. Following the event, it was announced Makhachev and Volkanovski picked up “Fight of the Night” honors and an extra $50,000 each.

“Performance of the Night” bonuses went to Yair Rodriguez and  Jack Della Maddalena. Rodriguez submitted Josh Emmett in round two to win the interim featherweight title, and Maddalena tapped out Randy Brown in round one.

Both fighters also collected an extra $50,000 for the awards.

UFC 284 took place in Perth, Australia.
