UFC 304: Leon Edwards And Tom Aspinall Booked For Rematches
By FCF Staff
Several bouts have been officially announced for UFC 304, including rematches for champions Leon Edwards and Tom Aspinall.
As expected would be the case for the upcoming, July 27th card, Edwards will look to defend the welterweight title against Belal Muhammad.
The two fought for the first time in 2021, but the fight was declared a no-contest, after Muhammad incurred an accidental eye poke. Since then, Edwards (22-3) has won four straight, and that includes defending the welterweight title against Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.
Muhammad (23-3), meanwhile, has won five straight fights since he faced Edwards. Most recently, he recorded a decision win over Gilbert Burns in May, 2023.
Aspinall (14-3) will attempt to retain the interim heavyweight title against Curtis Blaydes (18-4).
The heavyweights fought in July, 2022, but the fight was quickly stopped as a result of a knee injury Aspinall incurred.
Aspinall won the interim title in November by knocking out Sergei Pavlovich in the opening round of their November bout. The champion has won two fights since his fight with Blaydes.
Blaydes was stopped by Pavlovich in his next fight after facing Aspinall. But, returned to the win column in March by knocking out Jailton Almeida.
Several other fights have been announced for UFC 304, including Bobby Green versus Paddy Pimblett, Arnold Allen versus Giga Chikadze and Muhammad Mokaev vs. Manel Kape.
UFC 304 will take place in Manchester, England.
