Heading into UFC 306, a prevailing question was whether Sean O’Malley would be able to counter the seemingly endless, pressuring and wrestling Merab Dvalishvili brings to the table. As many expected would be the case, the answer was no.
The surging bantamweight took O’Malley down multiple times in the card’s headliner, and grabbed the title via a clear-cut, decision win.
In the co-headliner, Valentina Shevchenko reclaimed the women’s flyweight crown via a dominant, decision win, by also taking Alexa Grasso down repeatedly and scoring points from above.
